Comedy films, which stood at roughly 30% of the total in 1996, experienced a slight increase by 2006, making up nearly a third of the movies released. Conversely, the fantasy genre showed a marked increase from about 7% to 10%, while romance films saw a marginal decline in their release percentages during the same period.
The second chart provides information on ticket sales, where once again, drama leads in both years. However, its dominance declined from around 22% to just over 15%.
