speaking part 1 science

Did you like studying science when you were at school? [Why/Why not]

Yes, I did enjoy studying science subjects at school. I was always curious about how things work and why they happen, so science couldn’t be a more perfect fit for me. I particularly liked conducting experiments and seeing the results firsthand. It was exciting to learn about the world around me through a scientific lens.

  • through a scientific lens (/θruː ə ˌsaɪənˈtɪfɪk lɛnz/) (phrase): thông qua lăng kính khoa học

What do you remember about your science teachers at school?

Well, I had a few science teachers over the years, but there was one who really stood out. Mr. Tuan was my chemistry teacher, and he was a person of high intelligence. He possessed this incredible ability to simplify even the most complex topics. I remember him as being very enthusiastic and passionate about his subject, which was contagious.

I always enjoyed experiment sessions with Mr. Tuan in class, which makes learning so much fun. I can still picture him mixing chemicals and creating colorful explosions! He also encouraged us to ask questions and think critically, which I think is really important. One time, we saw him mix a concoction of different elements, and the result was a volcanic eruption-like reaction, after which solidified immediately. It was such a thrilling and awe-inspiring moment!

How interested are you in science now? [Why/Why not]

I'm quite intrigued by science, actually. I find it fascinating how scientific discoveries can change the way we live. For instance, advancements in technology and medicine are constantly improving our lives. Plus, understanding the world around us through a scientific lens is truly captivating. I think one of the most significant scientific developments hitherto has been the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence or AI. It's amazing how swiftly AI is evolving and being applied in various fields. From self-driving cars to medical diagnosis, AI is revolutionizing the way we live and work. It has the potential to solve some of the world's biggest challenges, such as climate change and disease.
