Part 4- phần khó nhất trong Toeic listening. Làm thế nào để chinh phục nó? Làm thế nào để có thể nghe được trơn chu nhất? Đó không phải là câu hỏi của riêng bạn mà là câu hỏi của hầu hết các bạn ôn thi toeic. Không có một phương pháp nào giúp bạn "một bước lên tiên" được, nhưng những bí kíp ôn thi part 4 sau đây có thể phần nào giúp bạn có thể chắc chắn hơn trong những bước chân chinh phục điểm cao của bài thi toeic nói chung và part 4 nói riêng

I. Tìm hiểu chung về toeic part 4

Trước tiên, để có thể làm tốt bài thi toeic, bạn phải nắm rõ cấu trúc của nó gồm những gì. Bởi người ta đã có câu :" Biết người biết ta, trăm trận trăm thắng " mà đúng không?

Nếu tìm hiểu rõ, chắc chắn chúng ta sẽ nhận ra được cấu trúc của một bài thi toeic part 4 có những phần sau:

Mở đầu: Thông tin chung của đối tượng

Nội dung: Thông tin chi tiết của bài nói

Kết thúc: Hành động tiếp theo của người nói và người nghe

Do đó, câu hỏi ở phần toeic part 4 cũng sẽ có những nội dung tương ứng như:

1. Câu hỏi về thông tin chung của bài  nói
2. Câu hỏi về thông tin chi tiết
3. Câu hỏi về hành động tiếp theo

Đây tuy không phải là tất cả những câu hỏi sẽ có trong part 4 listening nhưng đây là câu hỏi đinh chắc chắn sẽ có trong đề bài. 

II. Các chủ để hay xuất hiện trong part 4

Thông thường, toeic part 4 thường xuất hiện các chủ đề như sau:

+ Announcement (Thông báo)

+  Advertisement (Quảng cáo)

+  Seed (Bài diễn thuyết, tọa đàm)

+  Report (Báo cáo, tường thuật)

+  Flight and Airport Announcement (Thông báo ở sân bay, thông báo trên máy bay)

+  Broadcast (chương trình phát thanh truyền hình)

+  Recorded message (Tin nhắn ghi âm)

Đa số các chủ đề nào đề rất gần gũi với chúng ta trong cuộc sống, cho nên một bí kíp để bạn có thể nghe part 4 thành thạo đó là đọc, nghe thật nhiều các thông tin liên quan đến các chủ đề trên, Chúng ts có thể nghe, đọc các bài báo, đài phát thanh, hoặc bất cứ phương tiện nào có những chủ đề tương tự như trên.

III. Kỹ thuật nghe part 4

Với toeic part 4, nghe không những để biết thông tin mà còn để hiểu mà suy luận ra nó có hàm ý gì, làm gì tiếp theo sau đó. Do đó, để nghe trơn chu phần này nên luyện tập kỹ năng nghe ngấm. Kỹ thuật nghe Ngấm sẽ bao gồm những bước sau:

• Bước chuẩn bị: Tìm và lựa chọn bài nghe tiếng Anh phù hợp.

Bạn có thẻ tìm những bài luyện nghe này trên mạng, lựa chọn những bài đơn giản hơn bình thường một chút. Tìm và lựa chọn bài nghe tiếng Anh phù hợp là bước đầu tiên rất quan trọng. Nếu chọn bài lyện nghe quá khó, bạn sẽ rất dễ nản. Ngoài ra, bạn cũng có thể sử dụng giáo trình dành riêng cho Ielts hay Toeic. Sử dụng bài nghe của: VOA hay BBC, sử dụng bài nghe của các audio book. Tìm và chọn những nội dung, chủ đề tiếng Anh mà bạn hứng thú sẽ đạt được hiệu quả cao nhất khi luyện nghe.

• Bước 1: Làm quen với bài nghe 

Lần đầu nghe, chắc  chắn bạn sẽ không thể nào nghe được hết tất cả những nội dung tại part 4 này. Do đó, bạn hãy nghe khoảng 3 - 5 lần. Ở bước này bạn không cần phải hiểu được toàn bộ nội dung của bài nghe. Hãy thoải mái khi bạn nghe không hiểu một vài từ, một vài cụm từ hoặc một vài đoạn. Thậm chí khi bạn đã nghe đi nghe lại vài lần. 
Lưu ý: Không sử dụng transcript, không sử dụng từ điển khi nghe tại bước này, không dịch sang tiếng Việt khi nghe, không dừng lại giữa chừng hoặc ngắt quãng.

• Bước 2: Hiểu nội dung

Để hiểu được nội dung của bài luyện nghe, bạn cần: Nghe bài nghe từ 2 - 3 lần và theo dõi cùng transcript. Sử dụng từ điển khi cần. 

Mục tiêu bước này: hiểu nội dung của bài nghe. Đừng tập trung vào việc theo dõi transcript quá nhiều, bạn nên dừng việc dùng transcript ngay khi có thể. Hãy tập trung vào việc nghe hiểu

• Bước 3: Nghe và hiểu toàn bộ nội dung 

Nghe lại bài nghe và không theo dõi transcript. Nếu có thể, hãy nhắm mắt để có thể tập trung nhiều nhất vào bài nghe. Vừa nghe vừa tưởng tượng trong đầu diễn biến, cảm xúc của nhân vật trong phần này. Bạn đã có thể hiểu được hết nội dung? Nếu chưa, quay lại bước nhỏ bên trên. 
Nếu bạn đã có thể hiểu được toàn bộ nội dung câu chuyện, hãy chuyển sang bài nghe khác và tiếp tục với các bước trên hoặc nghe các bài nâng cao nếu bạn đã tự tin với các bài nghe cơ bản.

Áp dụng những bước trên, chắc chắn trình độ nghe của bạn sẽ tăng lê đáng kể đó!

IV. Mẹo làm bài nghe toeic part 4 theo từng chủ đề

Chủ đề 1. Mẹo làm bài nghe chủ đề Public Announcements (Thông báo)

Part 4 - Short Talk – TOEIC Reading có rất nhiều chủ đề thường xuyên được ra trong đề thi Toeic hàng tháng. Public Announcements là chủ đề liên quan đến những mẫu thông báo thường xuất hiện ở Sân bay (Airport), máy bay (Airplane); Cửa hàng tạp hóa (Department store); Thư viện (Libarary); Nhà hát (Theater)…

Việc nắm được những cấu trúc cơ bản cũng như từ vựng thường xuất hiện trong đề thi Toeic sẽ giúp các bạn có cơ hội trả lời đúng câu hỏi hơn. Sau đây là cấu trúc thường gặp trong dạng bài Public Announcements – Short Talk TOEIC Listening:
