Đáp án chi tiết và từ vựng đề thi thật IELTS Speaking Part 3 ngày 04/01/2025
Do you think old people and young people can share interests?
Of course. An interest, regardless of what it is, should not discriminate against the age of its participants. Some hobbies that are typically associated with the young can also be enjoyed by elders and vice versa. For instance, I have seen a lot of old people pick up playing video games since they don’t have anything to do throughout the day after retirement. Spending their time exploring a video game can give them something to look forward to everyday and help them maintain their reflexes and hand-eye coordination. On the other hand, there’s no rule that states young people are not allowed to try the interests that old people usually have. As long as they want to do it, I don’t see any problems.
- Discriminate (v): phân biệt đối xử
- Associate (v): liên hệ với
- Vice versa (adv): ngược lại
- Pick up (phrasal verb): thử làm gì đó mới
- Retirement (n): nghỉ hưu
- Coordination (n): sự phối hợp
What can old people teach young people?
They say wisdom comes with age, so there’s a lot of things that young people can learn from listening to their elders. Since they have accumulated so much experience from working for decades, old people can share what they have learnt about their craft and professions to younger workers. It is exactly why a lot of big companies would hire specialists and consultants who are retired employees to pass on the knowledge and secrets of the trade. Another thing that young people can learn from old people is how to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships. Young adults can seek advice on how to deal with problems that arise with friendships or marriage from old people who have already experienced such issues.
- Wisdom (n): sự thông thái
- Accumulate (v): tích lũy
- Craft (n): ngành nghề
- Specialist (n): chuyên gia
- Consultant (n): cố vấn
- Trade (n): nghề nghiệp
- Establish (v): xây dựng
Is it easy for young people and old people to make friends with each other?
Unfortunately not. It is not common to see young people developing friendships with old people. It is probably because their lifestyles vary too much and are too different from one another. While teenagers and young adults tend to socialize at parties and social events, older people much prefer to spend their night time indoors and going to bed earlier. This mismatch in routine can lead to the two demographics not having a lot of chances to interact with each other.
- Unfortunately (adv): không may
- Mismatch (n): không khớp
- Demographic (n): nhóm dân số
- Interact (v): tương tác
