Part 2: Describe a good decision of someone that you know.

You should say:

– who this person is/was

– what decision he/she made

– whether it was a good decision

And explain how this has changed this person’s life.

Oh, I will talk about my friend, Ngọc from business class. She used to be a flight attendant, a job that offered her the chance to travel the world and earn a decent salary. However, after having her first child, she decided to quit her job and open a cosmetic business to spend more time with her baby. It wasn't easy at first. Starting a business from scratch is tough, especially with a newborn. But she was determined and worked hard. Fast forward ten years, and she’s now one of the biggest distributors in the cosmetics industry and owns several successful spas across Vietnam. Plus, she has three beautiful kids.

She often tells me how challenging it was to decide to leave a stable job with great perks. But ultimately, spending time with her children was more important to her. Her story is incredibly inspiring to me. She’s proof that taking a risk and prioritizing what truly matters can lead to amazing success. Her journey shows that with dedication and a clear vision, you can achieve great things. She’s an example I strive to follow, and I admire her so much for the courage and determination she showed in making that tough decision. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the best decisions are the ones that align with our values and long-term happiness.

Part 3:

1. What kinds of decisions do people usually make in their daily life?

People make all kinds of decisions daily, especially important ones that need careful consideration. However, many things we do are out of habit, so we don't think about them; they just happen automatically. From what to eat for every meal to making big life choices, our days are filled with decisions, big and small.

2. What should people do when making a hard decision?

When faced with a difficult decision, people should first gather comprehensive information and seek counsel from individuals who have relevant experience. It’s crucial to meticulously analyze and weigh all the available data, considering the potential outcomes and consequences. Examining different perspectives, and even contemplating potential scenarios can provide deeper insights. 

3. Do you think it is easier to decide by yourself or by discussing it with others?

It depends on the situation and personality. For some, personal reflection leads to clarity, while others benefit from diverse perspectives. In complex or emotional situations, discussing with others can provide valuable insights and reassurance. However, for straightforward or highly personal decisions, trusting your judgment might be simpler and more effective. 

4. Why do you think many young people don’t like to follow their parents’ advice?

I believe that it’s pretty common to be rebellious during the teenage years, we’ve all been through it. This phase is all about seeking independence and figuring out their own identity, which often means questioning or rejecting what their parents suggest. It's a normal part of growing up.

5. What should people do to make better decisions?

Education is the key which means you have to gain experience and knowledge. Moreover, having a mentor in areas where you're less skilled can also be incredibly helpful. Everyone is trying to figure it out, so don't worry if it's a learning process. Reflect on past decisions, seek advice from trusted sources, and stay informed to improve your decision-making skills over time.
