You should say:

I will tell you about the time I relied on a paper map during my trip to Japan. It was my first day in Tokyo, and I just landed at Narita airport. Here is the thing, I already bought a travel SIM in advance so I can be active and use it in Japan, unfortunately, there was something wrong with the SIM and the phone just kept losing signal. Without a working SIM card or access to Wi-Fi, I was left with the trusty option of a paper map. Approaching locals for directions proved challenging due to language barriers. So, I sought out a map from a nearby information center.

Initially, the experience felt a bit confusing. Fumbling with the folds of the map while navigating unfamiliar streets was daunting. However, as I started to decipher the landmarks and street names, a sense of excitement washed over me. Piece by piece, I pieced together the route to my hotel, feeling a rush of accomplishment with each turn and landmark matched to the map. Despite the initial confusion, the experience of navigating Tokyo with a paper map added a sense of adventure and spontaneity to my trip and I felt proud of myself too. It reminded me of the joy of exploration and the thrill of discovering new places, even in the digital age.

With a map in hand, everyone can embark on exciting journeys, navigating through unfamiliar places with a sense of adventure. Whether planning routes for travel or simply exploring new territories, maps become our trusty companions, guiding us towards hidden gems and breathtaking vistas.

5. Why do most people prefer to use a paper map?

Because it offers a worry-free navigation experience. As I mentioned above, with no need for devices or concerns about battery life, a paper map is always ready to guide us on our adventures. Its simplicity and reliability make it an ideal tool for many adventurous people.
