Đáp án chi tiết và từ vựng đề thi thật IELTS Speaking Part 3 ngày 14/01/2025
Is it important to be well-informed about the subject you’re giving opinions on?
Oh absolutely. You know, people always say ‘ignorance is bliss’ but not in this case. I love hearing people’s opinion about several topics but I am disgusted when they only read through the title of a research and act all high and mighty as if they know everything already and ideas that differ from theirs are considered wrong. It’s utterly frustrating because they are not here to discuss but rather to brag about their intellectual supremacy. They act all smug and arrogant but it is such a pity that trying to be a show off and nothing more beyond it. They can never feel fully satisfied with just those vain and shallow moments.
- ignorance is bliss (idiom): kẻ không biết thì sẽ sống an nhàn
- disgusted (adj): cảm thấy ghê tởm
- frustrating (adj): khó chịu
- intellectual supremacy: ưu thế trí tuệ
- show off (v): kẻ khoe khoang
- vain (adj): vô ích
- shallow (adj): nông cạn
Do you feel comfortable with expressing your opinions?
It depends. I like to give my input on things that I'm familiar with. I think I am rather an open person but admitting that I am not well-versed with something is like a hard-to-swallow pill. It’s the equivalent to say I'm incompetent, I believe. I know, I know, that’s such an overly negative way to perceive myself but to each their own. But if we’re talking about daily life, or something I am acquainted with then absolutely, there is not a single reason as to why I should act reserved. It also shows that I'm interested in the conversation at hand too, so that’s a win-win situation.
- well-versed (adj): thông thạo
- equivalent (n): sự tương tự
- incompetent (adj): bất tài
- perceive (v): nhìn nhận
- acquainted (adj): quen qua
Do people always express their opinions?
Sometimes? I do believe that people with higher emotional intelligence could tell when they should give their opinion or should just listen. It depends on what the other person wants at that moment. Most of the time, we jump to a conclusion and give a solution even though the other party merely wants to vent their frustration. Always giving your opinions may reflect badly on your relationship as you may come off as insensitive. My advice is to ask if the other side needs someone to listen or they want to find a way to solve the issues. That way you can certainly tell when you should and shouldn’t say something.
- vent (v): xả giận, trút giận, kể lể
- insensitive (adj): vô cảm
Do you think it’s important to tell your friends your opinions?
Obviously, since that’s what friends are for, no? To be able to freely express yourself without being scrutinized is such a relief, at least to me. Your friends are the people you trust with your secrets and I believe they would feel offended if you don’t share your opinions with them since it might come off as a sign of your distrust in them. Of course, it doesn't mean you have to share every single thought but maybe you can confide in them in tough situations and search for an insight.
- scrutinize (v): dò xét
- offended (adj): cảm thấy bị xúc phạm
- confide (v): tâm sự
