Describe a person who encouraged and helped you achieve a goal.

You should say:

– Who this person is.

– What this person encouraged you to do.

– How this person helped you.

And explain how this encouragement helped you achieve the goal.

Definitely my mom, who was an absolute rock in helping me achieve all of my biggest goals. I can't imagine doing it without her. She always encouraged me to be fearless, try new things, and expand my knowledge.

When I was applying for a top-notch university, many people told me it was too hard and that I wouldn’t make it. But my mom had a different perspective. She told me to go for it and never look back. Her mantra was, “The things you didn’t do are usually the things you regret the most.” Her words stuck with me and gave me the courage to pursue my dream. Beyond just words, my mom was incredibly supportive in practical ways. She cooked me delicious meals every day to keep me nourished and focused. She drove me to various places, often far from our house, so I could attend extra classes. She even visited multiple centers to buy sample tests for me to practice. Whenever I felt overwhelmed or discouraged, especially when others suggested I should be more realistic, she was there to comfort and motivate me.

It pushed me to study harder and stay committed to my goal. The support she provided wasn’t just about the physical help but also the emotional strength she lent me. Knowing she believed in me helped me believe in myself.

In the end, I got accepted into the university that I always desire. I can’t thank her enough to be in my life and her faith in me which gave me the confidence to push through the doubts and obstacles.
